The Nail diagnosis goes back to Professor Ernst Issberner-Haldane (1886-1966)
He wrote 11 works on astrology, occultism and yoga; His main interest, however, was in the field of chiromancy (hand-held art), which is regarded as the pioneer of today. He wrote some standard works on hand-held art, for example. Following: The art of reading from the hand. (Also Read: Singer Lauren Jauregui Talks About Her Bisexuality)
Prof. Ernst Issberner-Haldane extended his diagnostic system to the area of the fingernails as well. He postulated a connection between changes of the fingernails and inner, organic events. In the course of his life, but also through the experiences of others, his insights, The signs of disease on the nails actually allow conclusions to be drawn about illnesses. He also wrote an informative book, which he published for the first time in 1960. It is called: Medical hand and nail diagnostics. The standard work of medical chirology
Before Nail diagnosis: How should a healthy fingernail look?
Before we come to the signs of an unhealthy fingernail - and thus also sick people - we must first clarify how a healthy fingernail looks at all. A healthy fingernail has:
- A slightly pink color
- A smooth surface without any abnormalities, e.g. Cracks, grooves, and the like.
- A slightly indicated vault
- A normal luster
- A normally shaped nail moon
- As well as a certain elasticity
In short: healthy fingernails look undamaged, clean and above all healthy. Everything that does not correspond to this ideal picture already gives an initial indication of a disorder or illness - in this case, the clearer the difference, the more significant is the indication of a disturbance in the body.
An important clue
Changes in the fingernail due to damage caused by chemicals, heavy smoking, injuries, fungal and bacterial infections, as well as other influences (from the outside) on the nail, are not included in the nail diagnostics. These factors must therefore be absolutely excluded before a nail diagnosis. The fingernail diagnosis is only for practiced eyes, so you should contact your doctor (preferably a dermatologist) or your healing practitioner if the nail picture changes. Do not be crazy; And do not immediately diagnose liver cirrhosis just because you think with untrained eyes that you have discovered one. In the vast majority of cases, there are clear indications behind the signs of a lack of mineral and vital nutrients, which you should take just as seriously.

The Nail diagnosis
First of all, for legal reasons, I have to point out that nail diagnostics is merely a form of aid diagnosis. Nail diagnosis does not in any way replace a diagnosis of a medical diagnosis; But it can give us a "hint" of possible illnesses, on the basis of which further investigations can be carried out. According to experience, the fingernails reveal the exact direction of a diagnosis; But they do not provide an exact diagnosis in the sense of school medicine.
At this point, however, school medicine should not prevent us from learning the possible ways of diagnosing our fingernails. In the diagnosis, the entire nail is included: it is precisely observed whether and which changes appear on the nail - for this, in particular, the patient's instructions are also required. More specifically, changes of the nail moon, as well as the shape, color and surface of the fingernail are analyzed and an individual diagnosis is then made according to the respective findings.
The most common signs of the fingernails
Claw nails
The fingernails are curved and thickened; They are an indication of circulatory disorders.
Milk glass nails
The fingernails are milky-white opaque. This sign is a reference to inflammatory diseases, but also to liver cirrhosis.
Plateau nails
The nail forms a flat surface in the center, similar to a plateau; But on the sides of the nail, this flat plane is sloping. This sign on the nail is a clear indication of problems in the gastrointestinal tract, but also an indication of disturbances in the blood formation.
Watch glass nails
The fingernails are arched upwards; They are excessively rounded. This sign is a sign of disturbances of the liver and lungs, but can also indicate an iron deficiency.
Yellow fingernails
A yellowish discoloration of the fingernails, gives an indication of: Geluchtucht, Leberleiden, medication effect, Pilzinfektionen and psoriasis.
Pale fingernails
The fingernails must look pink; They look pale instead, so this is a reference to anemia (blood loss).
White spots on the nails
The fingernail grows by about 3mm per month. Growth is not always smooth; During growth, air can be trapped in the nail, which then leads to white spots. This sign is thus harmless and has no further diagnostic value.
Blue fingernails
Blue colored fingernails are considered to be indicative of heart or lung disease. If you find such a sign on your fingernails, you should have this diagnosed in the form of a school medicine (further diagnosis).
Peeling off the fingernail
Peeling fingernails are an indication of missing minerals and trace elements.
Cross grooves and furrows on the nails
These signs can arise in a variety of ways. Often they are injuries to the nail root or nail skin. Fasting may also be the cause, but a creatine deficiency (substance for the formation of the nail) often results. Also growth disturbances in after operations and nail fractures come into question. If these causes are excluded, transverse grooves and furrows are considered indications of blood poisoning, depression, diarrhea, and pulmonary infections.
Brittle nails
Brittle nails are caused by a lack of minerals (calcium, magnesium) and trace elements. In the meantime, many manufacturers offer special finished products to solve this problem of the nails.
Nail moon
According to the medical practitioner "Kurt Tepperwein", an oversized nail moon is considered as a reference to a cardiac arrhythmia. Fingernails that do not have a nail moon, on the other hand, are an indication of a general nervous and cardiac weakness.
